Adrenaline

I've been waiting for this event for so long that not even a runny nose was able to keep me from going! Haha! Maybe I just miss the party nights during my undergad days in UPLB. And besides, my college academic organization is a member of Biology Majors Alliance of the Philippines (BMAP), which makes me a member of it, so might as well give my all-out support and enjoy the night away at the same time. The event was held at Area 05 Super Club. As for the afterparty, my orgmates and I went to Music 21 Plaza Timog for some more booze and karaoke!

In a Flash

The shortest month of the year happened by, well for me, in a flash. If I were to summarize the whole month, it would be: Vday, UPLB Feb Fair, almost four days of toothache, a trip to my dentist and Friday or Saturday night hang-outs with friends. What about the more or less remaining 15 days? I don't know either. Haha. But  I'm glad I get to cap of the month with my family. Unusual though cos we spent the afternoon of the last day of February at a memorial park cos it's my deceased aunt, Tita Luzette's birthday.

I never got to meet her. She passed away when she was five, when dengue wasn't that a household disease and had no immediate cure. I always wondered what it would be like if she was still alive. She was the youngest in my grandparents' brood of five so maybe, just maybe, we would really be close, like her older sibling, Tita Nalu, whom I'm very close with and is more like my second mother. However, I know that Tita Luzette's in a happy place now and she'll always be in our hearts.

The memorial park was quite peaceful when we got there. Far from the noisy and tent-laden park during the first of November. Ahhh it was such a good day. :)

Here Comes the Sun

Yesterday, it was exceptionally hot outside; the light's creeping through my window. If I were my normal self, I would've shut the blinds. I unlocked the sliding glass leaving the screen part of the window instead, letting the little breeze and the sunlight in. I was happy. The sun made me happy.

Later that afternoon, an old friend came over. We've known each other since he was seven and I was six.  He was my grade one classmate and through the years, we've became friends. You know, that comfortable friend, unlike the ones we get in Facebook. When he stepped into the room, the first words he uttered were  Andito ka lang? Di ka ba naiinip dito? and I answered him with a no and a laugh. I was perfectly fine with this kind of set-up: my laptop, my bed, some chips and me.

I'm too preoccupied with my own world these days, building walls whenever necessary cos I felt the need to do just like that. It's not that I'm scared or whatever. I just don't want any complications right now. Why complicate things if it can be simple as ABC, right? However, it dawned on me that I also need to let others in from time to time; may it be a thing, a person, a place, an experience.

Maybe it'll make me happier, just like the sun.

P.S. My hair's getting longerrr! Yay! :)
